Background to Song Audio Ltd.

To the best of my memory, I first fell in love with 'the magic sound' through a vacuum-tube GE tabletop radio in the late 1950s in Korea. The song was Pat Boone': "I'll Be Home My Darling" from AFKN (U.S. Armed Forces in Korea Network). From there began my search for 'the magic sound'. And during the past 50 years, I owned many great audio products including classics from Marantz and McIntosh.

During my neverending pursuit of great American products, I found kindred spirits in the military and was able to obtain a job in the 2nd U.S. Infantry Division as an interpreter/translator in the personnel office. There I met many U.S. soldiers and civilians alike who had the same passion as myself. Following marriage to my young wife in 1962, it was in 1966 (a year after my second child's birth) when I secured a position as a personnel administrator with the U.S. Government Contractor in Vietnam as a Third Country National. My pay became an enormous $600 USD monthly plus air-conditioned private accommodation which was equivalent to more than 15 times my previous income in Korea. With such good fortune, I began to acquire many great products through my friends, by mail order, and from the U.S. Military PX (post exchange) - which was the equivalent of a retail store for military personnel.

In 1971, during the Vietnam War, I decided to emigrate to U.S.A. or Canada to continue pursuing my dream as well as provide a better education and living standard for my family. For the past 30 years, my lifelong pursuit never dimmed and actually came to fruition in the summer of 2001. It was then that I finally decided to recreate 'that magic sound' in innovative new products with the help of my family, friends, and business associates in Canada and abroad. As a team, we are expanding our products comprising of vacuum-tube electronics and loudspeakers - together with import/distribution of other products which complement our products. Our mission is the pursuit of absolute musicality. We expect great things to come....
